Tour Of Antwerpen & going home!
Well I am three days from going home and I can’t believe it. It is unreal how fast my time here in Belgium has gone by, it feels like I have been here forever and at the same time it feels like I just got here. I completed the Tour of Antwerpen for my last race here and I have got to say it was a crazy one. Day1 was the prologe and the first stage and it rained all day,
I finished in 28th place in the prologe which I was no that happy with because my cornering was horrible in the rain so I lost big time there but it could have been worse. The stage later that day was crazy it rained none stop and was cold, I was doing ok untill the crashing started. The first crash I went off the road and did not fall but it was close, then I was stuck behind a crash as I was chasing back into the peloton which then I had to chase even more and on the local laps I had my bike completely knocked out from under me but I landed right on a guy so it was like hitting a pillow I was very lucky. Day2 was A stage in the morning which we all finished, and then the Team Time trial which we had practiced 3 times. I really thought we would do well but we all found out that the team TT is somthing you can’t do over night and think you are going to do it well, there where some close calls and some mistakes but when it was over we finished 15th. Day3 Had more bad luck waiting on us, in the first lap I had a spoke break on my wheel so I stoped and got a wheel change and started my chase back into the peloton, just as I got back in the peloton a crash happend and my team mate Vince went down in the crash I asked him if he was ok because he flew off the road into a mud puddel and looked like the creature from swamp thing but he was ok, the rest of the day was all chasing but we all lost big time. Day4 was 190 kilometers long with cobbles at the end, my team mates and I where ready to race we raced at the front all day, it started raining about 25 kilometers from the finish and when we hit the cobbles the crashing started Vince and I finished in the main group and two of my team mates just behind do to flat tires. I just want to say that it was great racing with Vince,Allen,Kevin,Santi and Scott I would race my ass off any day for you guys and am looking forward to next season!!! My stay here at the Cycling Center has been the best experiance of my life I have made great friends and major improvments in my racing style, I am highly motivated to come back next year and kick butt!!!!

B-Stone,
Big ups on the TT in VB. What plans you got for you time back home? Maybe back just in time for a hurricane to be in the gulf and catch some mad waves huh? Hey, will you email me the pic of myself in front of the disco bus. Did I send you yours? If not, shoot me your email address and I’ll send it to you.
Later,
Tex
